Starting January 13th …

Hello Raiders,

It has been coming since Feb 2014 (post below) and it is effective January 13th, 2015 - changes and adjustments! The basis for these changes and adjustments are still the same: raid progression should progress such that we clear a raid instance before the next raid instance becomes available. I have been referring to this as "the bus getting from A to B at the speed of a bus." People that want the bus to get from A to B at the speed of a jet fighter should get off the bus and find a jet fighter! People that want the bus to get from A to B at the speed of a bicycle (or that presently cannot contribute to supporting bus speed and instead are encouraging bicycle speed) should get off the bus and find a bicycle until they can contribute to the bus going at bus speed.

The next raid instance is available starting in February. We have one boss to clear and three weeks to do so. That's a pretty slow moving bus however people should be planning on getting to 2nd Intermission next week and, at worst, getting to Phase 4 the following week with final clearing in that 3rd week. Better yet, get to Phase 4 next week and down the boss by the week of Tues 20th.

W H A T  Y O U  S H O U L D  E X P E C T:

* fully expect everyone to fully understand every mechanic.
* expect your raid leader to pick one published video strategy or explain a strategy.
* expect no hand-holding.
* expect everyone else to expect you to "perfect" your performance (mechanics AND output).
(your performance on mechanics, and your performance on output)
* expect no more than 10% of the raid roster to be 'carries' on 'farm' bosses.
* expect 0% carries on 'progression' bosses.

If you do not understand the mechanics or how to improve your output performance, ask someone - the raid lead, other colleagues in same class+spec or same raid role, or just people that know. (Obviously some boss fights require some people to play a different contributing role (e.g. flamethrowers on Brakenspore) than just their normal output contributing role.

If you do not understand the strategy or the 'why', ask the raid lead.

If you are 'cut' from a boss fight, it does not mean you are cut from the raid group - it means you are cut from that boss fight that night. Once you are not a 'carry' on that boss fight, or once the raid group has it on farm and enough raiders that they can carry you on the 10% allowance for carries, you will be in on the boss fight.

No exceptions.

Jettison the mindset of Wrath and re-assume the mindset of Burning Crusade: do what is in the best interest of the raid group on a boss-by-boss case basis.

One last note: there are MANY pre-made warlords raid groups accessible through the dungeon finder. Use that ability to gain access to the same bosses on the same level of difficulty so that you can PRACTICE your mechanics and your output. So what if you do not get loot? - get good so that you can stay in the raid group and contribute. Get better at your performance. So what if it takes hours to do and pugs wipe? - spending hours on alts takes longer and does NOTHING to keep you in guild first kills.

Again, no carries on progression bosses. No exceptions. Effective January 13th.
