Raiding Roster Updates and Info
Effectively, we have 8 tanks, 7 healers, and 23 dps that are all active and which we can allocate to raid groups in our iRaid group. In any given 25-man, we could muster 7 tanks, 6 healers, and 22 dps when we exclude alts. We have a much larger roster that is more casual, however for planning purposes, we should focus in on what we have that reliably arrives to raid.
We have found that despite 35 active raiders, we have just slightly too few each Friday to form a 25-man but can nicely fill out 2x 10-man raid groups. Despite general consensus that Saturdays are our next best raid night for availability, we have found that we have slightly too few to form 2x 10-mans on Saturdays now that several of our mainstay raiders have other demands on their daily lives.
From the sparse submissions into the raider availability survey, we can determine that we have raiders additionally available spread across Tue, Wed, and Thu.
All of which is to say, that we increased the number of raid groups and raiders so that we didn't leave anyone out each week by only running one 10-man raid group in Fri and Sat, however the effect presently is that while we are successfully fielding 2x 10-man raid groups each Friday and getting everyone interested in raiding that week into the raids, we are leaving people on standby each week on Saturday.
One solution is to increase the pool of raiders with a surge recruiting effort. However, this traditionally has not resulted in raiders that last over the longer term. Also, it would complicate the scene on Fridays and force the push to 25-man in order to not leave anyone one the bench on Fridays.
Another solution is to stagger the raids thereby having one 10-man raid during the week, 2x 10-man raids on Friday, and one 10-man raid on Saturday. This would allow people with alts to bolster any shortages and would allow us to keep the full roster active and prevent people having to go standby week after week.
Frankly, we may shift the weekday raid event from week to week initially as we are facing the holidays in the immediate future and generally changing schedules over the next 8 weeks.
Bear with us and please be flexible in order to accommodate the larger benefit of allowing everyone to enjoy raiding each week.
Finally, with progress into HoF occurring repeatedly and reliably, we are overdue to form a group that can obtain the guild credit for the boss kills. As such, we will likely assemble a guild credit group this week in order to pursue advancing that guild achievement.
